Community Work Days: Each gardener (or team of gardeners) is strongly encouraged to sign up and participate in at least 2 Work Days organized by the South Burlington Community Gardens Advisory Board (SBCGAB). If you cannot make it, you may make arrangements with the Volunteer Day Coordinator and send an alternate (an additional gardener from your plot ideally).

We have a select number of Community Garden plots, located at the Wheeler Homestead on Dorset St., still available for this upcoming season. We are accepting registration forms on a first come first serve basis, so we encourage you to fill out the form and return to us either by emailing recreation@sburl.com or by dropping off at our office.

Please Join us for a special Memorial Day Ceremony at Veteran's Memorial Park as we remember our fallen friends and family.
Since the earliest ceremonies in small American towns following the Civil War, we have gathered on Memorial Day to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. As in those early days of laying wreaths and placing flags, our national day of remembrance is often felt most deeply among the families and communities who have personally lost friends and loved ones.

This national holiday may also be the unofficial start of the summer season, but all Americans must take a moment to remember the sacrifice of our valiant military service members, first responders and their families. Memorial Day is a day of both celebration and grief, accounting for the honor of our heroes and reflecting on their tragic loss.

311010 - Boater's Safety Course

The Recreation Dept., in conjunction with the VT State Police and CVRA will be offering a Boater Safety Course. The course is open to all youth, (12 years of age and older), teens and adults. The course is 8 hours and is offered over 4 days. Participants must be present at all sessions to be eligible for certification. The course is mandatory for any person, born after January 1, 1974, who will be operating a motorboat on VT waters.

This is a parent/child program and is designed to introduce baseball/softball through fun games and activities. It will provide children the opportunity to interact and play within their own age group. Each week consists of different skills and games.

333015 - Girls Lacrosse

The program's emphasis is on basic skill development (throwing, catching, cradling, dodging), teamwork, conditioning, game strategy and having fun. This league combines the fundamentals of the game as well as competitive play to improve individually and as a team. Teams will travel to neighboring communities; the season ends in tournament play for the 5/6 & 7/8 teams. Jamborees will take place towards the end of the season on five consecutive Sundays. Travel to jamborees will be required.

This league is part of the Northern Vermont Youth Lacrosse League and requires membership through US Lacrosse prior to registration. Ninja Park Warriors will compete as individuals for points (within age groups) throughout the week for prizes. NPW's will visit and compete in all SB parks. Challenges will take place on land and on the water. Participants will help to design exciting challenge courses daily.

Work with the Youth Services Division of the South Burlington Police Department to learn skills on how to solve crimes. You will learn Crime Scene fingerprinting, photography, evidence collection, and at the end of the week procress a mock crime scene. We will also have special guests throughout the week who specialize in other areas of law enforcement.

Camp A: During these five, fun-filled days, young chefs and artists will join forces to cook up one of the tastiest workshops yet. Young Rembrandts students will learn to illustrate the thing we all love to do - eat! Students will draw, decorate, build and color everything in the kitchen that relates to cooking and baking.
